HHFB represents a six county service area that includes some of the poorest counties in Indiana by multiple standards.
Support for the Hoosier Hills Food Bank does not solely benefit one organization or program, but rather over 85 agencies that feed hungry people through food pantries, soup kitchens, youth programs, senior centers, homeless shelters and residential programs including domestic violence shelters, group homes and addiction recovery houses.
Consider this: 50% of clients served by HHFB member agencies report having made the choice between buying food and paying utility bills; 38% report having made the choice between food and housing; 28% report having made the choice between food and health care.
Having enough to eat is everyone's basic right.
