Details
Catholic Charities has three food pantries in the Charlotte Diocese in Asheville, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem.
Each pantry provides walk-in assistance on a first-come-first-served basis during normal business hours.
The pantries operate according to a model chosen by the customer, through the principle of providing food with dignity.
Clients select their favorite food from the list of in-stock items.
Each pantry depends heavily on the work of volunteers to stock and distributes groceries weekly.
First-time customers complete a one-page application with basic demographic and family information.
Due to the huge needs, they can only serve customers once a month.
