The pantry, located at Evergreen United Methodist Church, provides food assistance to their hungry neighbors in eastern Chatham County, specifically the Northwood College attendance area.
Take and Eat Food Pantry is an ecumenical initiative supported by Evergreen United Methodist Church, Chatham Community Church, Chapel in the Presbyterian Church of Pines, Holy Trinity of Chatham and Lystra Baptist Church.
Individuals and families receive enough food to prepare their meals for about a week and can visit the pantry twelve times during the calendar year.
If you need food, visit the pantry during Tuesday's distribution to complete the information sheet.
You must provide proof of address for all adults and children living in the household: Something current with name and address - school records, medical bills, rental contract for the apartment, electricity bill, Medicaid card, etc. Please note that they do not accept driving licences or "junk mail" as proof or residence.
