According to population estimates, approximately 142,000 people in Pima County are age 65 or older.
That population is extremely vulnerable.
Forty percent have disabilities, 43% earn less than $25,000 a year, and nearly 42% live alone.
In addition, 17.7 percent of the total population is living below the federal poverty level.
Each year, ICS assists more than 28,000 seniors, disabled individuals, and people and families in financial crisis, a significant number of people in need.
The heart of their organization is their more than 600 volunteers who donate 28,000 hours per year.
This base of volunteers providing compassionate service is their single greatest asset.
